Kitesurf Lessons

As we enter the winter months, the wind is less consistent, so we may not be able to run lessons every day. However, there will still be good, windy days here and there throughout the winter.

If you would like to make a booking, simply purchase a voucher above and contact us by email (info@surfconnect.com) or by phone (07-3137 0500) to reserve a date that suits you. If the wind is not suitable on your chosen date, we will contact you at least two hours before the lesson is due to start, so you can choose another date to try again.

Vouchers are fully refundable (less 2% Shopify's fee), if session cannot be run at your booked in date due to weather. 

Lesson pricing:

All equipment included in pricing. Look for our direct booking weekday specials. If your lesson needs to be called off due to weather (too much or too little wind), we will advise at least 1-1.5 hours before your booked in time. Your choice for full refund (less 2% Shopify's fee) or postponement. Also if you have your own equipment, you will receive extra 10% lesson time!

1 hour Group Lesson: $99 per person* (normal price: $149)

2 hours Group Lesson: $199 per person*

2 hours 1 Person Private Lesson: $350 

2 hours 2 Person: $450 for 2 person

2 hours 3 Person: $550 for 3 person

3 hours 1 Person Private Lesson: $500 

3 hours 2 Person: $600 for 2 person

3 hours 3 Person: $700 for 3 person

10 hours Package for 1 Person Private Lesson: $1500 

10 hours Package for 2 Person Private Lesson: $2000 

10 hours Package for 3 Person Private Lesson: $2500 

Note 10 hours package lessons are for weekdays only, unless we have availability on weekends.

Public Holidays attract 15% surcharge.

*minimum 2, maximum 3 person in group classes. If your chosen date does not have minimum numbers enrolled, we will be in touch so you can choose another date that suits.

IKO Certification: $250. This certification is only for kiters already at minimum level 3 riding level (can demonstrate they can launch, land, ride upwind, turn around and self-rescue, basically as an independent rider that causes no safety concerns to anyone around them). Certification takes about 30 minutes to an hour. Once certified, you can rent equipment from any IKO centres around the world for the rest of your life. IKO Membership is included in the price, and comes with purchase discounts and access to tuition videos on the IKO website. A must have for any kiteboarders! 

Lesson price includes all equipment. Note: All 2 or 3 person lessons share one kite set and one instructor. If your chosen category is not on the booking calendar, simply buy a Gift Voucher by clicking here and contact us to make booking.

Surf Connect, founded in 2005, is Brisbane’s only IKO & AWSA accredited school. Other than IKO, BKSA, VDWS & AWSA we also have qualified instructors from RYA (Royal Yachting Association), Sailing Australia and NSSIA covering all the sports we offer.

IKO (International Kiteboarding Organisation) is the world's most recognised Association and has over 300 centers around the world. It's structured, safe and superb teaching program has allowed us to introduce the sport safely and professionally. Over the last 20 years, we have introduced our sports to over 50,000 students.

Every kite student receives free IKO membership and Certification Card. The certification allows you to rent gear, enjoy discounts, access training videos, even purchase insurance if required.

We are open 7 days a week on the northside of Brisbane at Sandgate. After your first lesson, you’ll receive 10% discount on all future lessons off RRP pricing.

Booking terms and conditions:

1. All bookings are to be made by 5pm the day before, unless you have been advised otherwise.
2. Changes of date/times allowed provided a minimum of 24 hours notice is given. No shows will void payment/voucher. 
3. Amendments under 24 hours due to medical reasons is allowed provided a valid Doctor's note is supplied, and a rebooking fee of $50 is paid. 
4. We strongly advise you take out your own insurance cover, as we do not accept any liabilities for any injuries or property loss or damage. Most home insurance policies may already include such cover, or allow you to add on as additional cover. If required, we can also recommend insurance company. 
5. Registration and indemnity form must be completed prior to activity. Booking confirmation will not be issued unless registration form is received.
6. Safety apparel must be worn at all times during activity.
7. Participants weight limit is governed by our safety gear sizes. We have from XS to XXL.
